HI All,
I took the distributor cover off at the road side, nothing obvious, except it needs a good clean.
Oh and the “digital points” that the DPO told me he had installed were imaginary, still got breaker points fitted.
Vacuum pump, to test the vacuum advance.
Carb balancer, to set them up properly this time.
Watch this space for more tinkering as soon as I'm back from work trips and a holiday in Auz.
Well it had to happen one day, the ride of shame !
I think it’s something in the distributor, as stumbling came
back then she stalled then wouldn’t fire.

So more toys ordered;
A timing light, with digital settings and dwell reading.Vacuum pump, to test the vacuum advance.
Carb balancer, to set them up properly this time.

Next . . . . . . . . Check / adjust valves, then service the
distributor and do the timing, then balance the carbs. Keep your fingers
crossed nothing more sinister lurking.
We've all been there at some time or another. Hope you find the problem soon.
