Don't worry, Don't FRET !

Hi All,

After changing the oil cooler lines at the recent service I thought that the hoses seemed a bit loose and not supported.

A bit of a browse through the the MOSS site showed that there was a figure of 8 clamp and more importantly grommets for the radiator division plate. Needless to say these were all missing.
In the last batch of spares were the required spares so time to fit, simple job but if the oil line rubbed and fretted then it could have been a complete oil loss.

New grommets in division plate.

Figure 8 clamps, holding the hoses together and with the new grommets all nice and tight.

Next . . . . . Might have to tackle the speedo drive, I've been putting it off as the back of dash is a nightmare to work in.

Suspension stops and straps, , , , or NOT !

Hi All,

On one of my recent trips under the car I noticed, or more accurately didn't notice, the suspension rebound straps.

This is all that was there :-

I think they had broke and somebody (DPO !!) cut them off as top and bottom were both like this.

Simple job to take the nuts off and slip new ones on and bolt up.
HOWEVER these are famous for being hard to get off and the bottom bolts are welded to the axel so do not want to break them off. This meant it was a perfect job for my new 3/8 impact gun, rattle rattle and off they came ! So nice and easy all done, right tool for the job makes it so much easier.

I also did the actual bump stops, the were in better condition than I feared though.

They just pull out and push the new ones in, BUT and there always is a BUT, putting the new ones in was a real pain as they had to slip over a cone wedge. Liberal application of dish soap and brute force go them in okay though.

Another productive session under the car.

Cheers,
Richard B.

Next . . . . . Oil cooler lines.
